We are delighted to announce that 16 year old Ellie Richardson will be joining us for the 2018/19 season. Ellie will link up with her new team mates for the rest of this season after signing from Sheffield United RTC. The RTC themselves have been instrumental in ensuring Ellie has a pathway in to senior football and due to geography and travel commitments, Brighouse was seen as the perfect fit, as well as being a place for the 16 year old to continue her development in football at Women's Premier League level.

Manager Rob Mitchell said "We are delighted to have Ellie at Brighouse, she has shown a maturity beyond her years in training. She is very comfortable on the ball and intelligent with it, she hasn't looked out of place and will no doubt develop in to a superb player for the future. The plan now is to keep her involved with the 1st team squad until the end of the season and hopefully get her some minutes where possible, we are certainly looking towards youth next season with the introduction the U21 development side but we want to give playing opportunities where possible in the first team."

Ellie is looking forward to the challenge and said "I'm really happy to have found somewhere I can enjoy my football, the club seems a really good fit for me and I'm looking forward to developing at Brighouse. Hopefully I can contribute towards future success at the club but for now I'm just happy to be in and around the squad."

Brighouse Town Ladies are delighted to welcome back attacking full back, Josephine Hewson.

Hewson left Town to join Guiseley Vixens during the 2016/17 campaign with the Vixens eventually going on to claim the league title, Hewson made ten appearances during that campaign before just two more this season. She returned to York City to play in the NERWFL whilst studying her masters degree.

After several discussions with manager Rob Mitchell, Josie made the decision to transfer her FA Women's Premier League registration over to Town but remains very much committed to York City during a season of survival, something they looked to have achieved with a couple of impressive recent results.

Mitchell will be hoping Hewson can make her second debut for the club before the season finishes but is very much building towards the future and adding competition in key areas with Josie fitting the bill of what we look for at Brighouse, she's a hard working and determined player with bags of pace which can be used both in defence and attack, ability wise she's fantastic but she has the right attitude to go with that too.

Manager Rob Mitchell said "We are delighted to have Harriet at Brighouse, she's a hard working and versatile player who has a keen eye for goal, her determination and desire to win makes her a valuable asset. She has a tremendous attitude and will definitely compliment the current squad and contribute towards any future success.

Harriet added "I believe that hard work beats talent any day,but if you have both not many teams can live with you, Brighouse has just that and they've shown over the first half of the season just how far togetherness and team spirit can get you. I had my first training session last week and it was clear to see just how much quality they have, I'm just delighted to be part of that and hopefully I can help towards winning the league this season.
